Born and raised in suburban Philadelphia, Brenden Mascherino is a New York–based cinematographer working across narrative and commercial projects. He has lensed high-budget independent short films and independent feature films internationally, with work spanning a wide range of periods and settings—from Paleolithic-era worlds to contemporary modern environments.
His work blends expressionistic and naturalistic approaches, using rich texture, intentional composition, and immersive atmosphere to create imagery that feels both grounded and elevated. Rooted in both digital and motion picture film, his process is shaped by a film-first discipline that emphasizes preparation, precise lighting, and visual intention, while remaining instinctive and collaborative on set.
Across independent and large-scale productions, he is known for thoughtful collaboration, strong visual instinct, and creating intimate, emotionally resonant imagery with a poetic, timeworn sensibility. He continues to grow within the narrative film space, seeking to collaborate with directors who tell powerful stories in distinct and inventive ways.
